Auditions Aug 25th!

  • August 25th 5:00 PM (please arrive no earlier than 4:30 PM)

  • Please prepare one of the provided songs as well as one of the provided short monologues.

    Nothing has to be memorized.

    SONGS: we have provided the sheet music, track with your voice part highlighted as well as an accompaniment track below. Pick one of the following songs.

  • Please bring a headshot, resume and a water bottle. We will have sheet music available.

  • Anyone 6-13 years old (must be ages 6-13 by the start of rehearsals). All auditioners should be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

  • No. We will only be having one audition for this production. If you cannot attend but wish to participate, please email education@mediatheatre.org to coordinate a video submission no later than Aug. 25th.

  • Rehearsals are typically 4:30pm - 7:00pm Sept 14th - Sept 9th. Tech week is Sept 5th -9th and no conflicts can be honored for that time period. Please see more detailed calendar aside.

  • All rehearsals take place at The Media Theatre. 104 E State Street Media, PA 19063.

  • Yes. Performances are: Saturday and Sundays (Oct. 10th - 25th) at 11:00 AM and Thursdays at 10:00 AM. Please note your child will have to miss two half days of school (Oct 15th & 22nd) to participate in our 10 AM student Matinees.

About the Youth Ensemble Series

The Youth Ensemble Series proudly produces three youth edition productions each year, catering to students aged 6-13. With casts of up to 30, our lineup includes three shows for children aged 6-13. With our 26/27 season being bigger and better than ever, we are returning to our structure of casting our Youth Ensemble Shows from our Education Classes. Our classes are designed to complement and elevate our productions. Additionally, these productions offer students the invaluable opportunity to audition, rehearse, and perform in a safe and supportive environment.

To participate in our Youth Ensemble Productions, it is highly encouraged to take a Media Theatre Acting Class. CLICK HERE for more information on classes.

Production fees for students enrolled in Media Theatre's Education Classes will be $50 per production. This fee supports essential elements, including props, sets, costumes, and staffing, ensuring a memorable experience for every participant. During this transition year, there will be an option to participate in Youth Ensemble productions while not being enrolled as a Media Theatre Education student. This production fee will be $500 per production.

    • If you participate in our Youth Ensemble Productions, it is highly encouraged to take a Media Theatre Acting Class. CLICK HERE for more information on classes. See below “What does it cost to Participate” tab for more information on classes in relation to our Youth Ensemble Series.

    • For each production there will be an audition process. We will select a cast of 30 students.

    • Those cast members will meet for 3 weeks, roughly 30 hours of rehearsal time, before performing in 8 shows. Attendance at every show is mandatory. Please note there are 2 shows for each production that will require students to miss a few hours of school. Every step of the process is enriching, whether it’s a child’s first audition or a returning performer from previous productions.

    *Annie and Fun Home are not a part of our Youth Ensemble Series. There will be auditions that are separate from our typical Education Department Offerings

With casts of up to 30 our lineup includes three shows for ages 6-13 and one teen production for ages 14-18. Designed to complement our academic classes, these productions offer students the invaluable opportunity to audition, rehearse, and perform in a safe and supportive environment.

  • Production fees for students enrolled in Media Theatre's Education Classes will be $50 per production. This fee supports essential elements, including props, sets, costumes, and staffing, ensuring a memorable experience for every participant. During this transition year, there will be an option to participate in Youth Ensemble productions while not being enrolled as a Media Theatre Education student. This production fee will be $500 per production.

  • The selected cast typically rehearses for 3 weeks, roughly 30 hours of rehearsal time, before performing in 8 shows. Attendance at every show is mandatory. Please note there are 2 shows for each production that will require students to miss a few hours of school. Rehearsal times are typically 4:30-7:00 with shows at 10:00AM and 11:00AM. Specific schedules for each Youth 2025/2026 show can be found below. Schedules may shift slightly depending on the age of cast members.
