Production (Broadway Series)

The Media Theatre is an award-winning musical theatre company that has been producing quality live theatre to the Philadelphia and Delaware County area since 1994. Each season consists of multiple musical productions apart of our "Broadway Series" that employs members of AEA, the Actor's Equity union, as well as nonunion talent and IATSE union stagehands. Additionally, the theatre produces “Youth Ensemble” productions to run in-tandem with our mainstage programming. A typical season lasts from September until June.   • Seeking an experienced Costume Designer for LEGALLY BLONDE and future productions. The Media Theatre is a LOA in reference to LORT. Stipend designer fee with possible additional hourly rates. As a pre-condition of employment it is required to have the requisite clearances for criminal and child abuse clearances from the State Police, Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare, and the FBI.

    Expected duties include (but not limited to):

    Provide a design within budget and time constraints.

    Attend all Production Meetings either in person or via Zoom.

    Collaborate with the Artistic Director, Director & Technical Director on all pre-production concepts.

    Mandatory attendance to Designer Run.

    Report to the Technical Director/Production Manager the intended vision.

    Work with the given materials and advise Production Team and Technical Director on appropriate avenues of achieving additional resources.

    Attend all scheduled technical rehearsals.

    Collaborate with Director of each production in creating a cohesive design before rehearsals begin.

    Create a comprehensive schedule and responsibility delegation of required work (Pulling from stock, purchasing, building, etc.)

    Ability to adapt to a varied schedule

    Proficiency in software including but not limited to Google Sheets & Microsoft Excel

    First Rehearsal: 4/8/24

    First Performance: 4/24/24

    Closing Performance: 5/26/24
